Connect with the ancient wisdom and heart-opening power of cacao in this sacred ritual. By mindfully preparing and drinking ceremonial cacao, you'll deepen your connection to the spirit of the plant, allowing for emotional healing, inspiration, and introspection.

Materials:

  • High-quality ceremonial cacao (raw cacao, paste or powder). Between 25-40 grams. We love www.cacaobliss.ch

  • Saucepan

  • A whisk or wooden spoon for stirring

  • 1 cup of water or plant-based milk

  • Sweetener of choice (raw honey or maple syrup)

  • Optional spices (cinnamon, cardamom, cayenne pepper)

  • A favorite mug or cup

  • Candles

  • Incense or essential oils

  • A journal and pen

  • A comfortable seat or cushion

Instructions:

  1. Set the space: Choose a calm, comfortable space where you can prepare and drink your cacao without distractions. Light candles, burn incense, or diffuse essential oils to create an atmosphere of tranquility and reverence.

  2. Gather your ingredients: Obtain high-quality ceremonial cacao, either in paste or powder form, as well as your preferred sweetener (such as raw honey or maple syrup) and any additional ingredients like spices (cinnamon, cardamom, or cayenne) or plant-based milk.

  3. Prepare the cacao: Gently heat water or plant-based milk in a saucepan until it's warm but not boiling. Add the cacao paste or powder (typically 1-2 ounces or 28-56 grams per serving), stirring until it dissolves. If desired, add your sweetener and spices, adjusting the flavor to your preference.

  4. Bless the cacao: Hold your hands over the prepared cacao, and offer a prayer or intention to connect with the spirit of the cacao. Express gratitude for the cacao's wisdom and guidance, and ask for its support in opening your heart and deepening your intuition. Play medicine music.   5. Mindful consumption: Find a comfortable seat, and take a moment to center yourself with a few deep breaths. Slowly sip the cacao, savoring its rich flavor and texture, and allowing its warmth to fill your body. As you drink, maintain a meditative state, opening your heart and mind to receive the cacao's wisdom and blessings.

  6. Reflect and journal: After finishing the cacao, sit quietly and observe any emotions, insights, or sensations that arise. You may choose to journal about your experience or meditate on the feelings and wisdom that the cacao has offered you.

  7. Close the ritual: Express gratitude once more to the spirit of the cacao, and give thanks for the experience and insights gained during the ritual. Gently blow out the candles, and take a few moments to integrate the energies and wisdom received.
