A Ritual for Tapping into Your Intuition Through Slow Movement

Welcome to the Soul Journey, a fun and uplifting ritual designed to help you nurture your relationship with yourself. To make a relationship work, we must understand ourselves deeply, by knowing what we want, need, and can offer. We have to be aware of our own patterns when settling down with someone or meeting a potential partner. This ritual invites you to explore your inner world with curiosity and delight, allowing you to embrace your unique qualities and experience more joy in your everyday life in order to get clear on what you want out of other relationships in your lives.

Materials Needed:

  • A comfortable space to sit or lie down

  • A journal or notebook

  • A pen or pencil

  • A fun, upbeat playlist or your favorite songs

  • Colorful art supplies (markers, colored pencils, paints, etc.)

  • A small mirror

Instructions:

  1. Set the stage for fun: Create a comfortable and vibrant space where you can sit or lie down undisturbed. Play your upbeat playlist or favorite songs to set a joyful mood.

  2. Begin with a mindful dance: Stand up and allow your body to move to the music. Let yourself dance freely, embracing the energy of the moment. Focus on how it feels to move your body with joy and without judgment.

  3. Reflect on your inner world: After a few minutes of dancing, sit down and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths and imagine your inner world as a colorful, lively landscape. What do you see, hear, or feel?

  4. Draw your inner world: Using your art supplies, create a visual representation of your inner world. Let your intuition guide you, and don't worry about perfection – focus on the process and the feelings it evokes.

  5. List your sources of joy: In your journal, write down five things that bring you joy or make you feel alive. These can be activities, people, places, or objects – anything that fills your heart with happiness.

  6. Explore your unique qualities: Hold the small mirror in your hand and look closely at your reflection. Think about the unique qualities and traits that make you who you are. In your journal, write down three qualities you appreciate about yourself.

  7. Create a joy plan: Choose one or two items from your sources of joy list, and create a plan to incorporate them into your daily or weekly routine. This could be as simple as setting aside time for a favorite hobby, connecting with a loved one, or visiting a cherished place.

  8. Affirm your self-love: Standing in front of the mirror, speak these affirmations aloud while looking into your own eyes:

"I am worthy of joy and happiness."

"I embrace my unique qualities and celebrate my inner world."

"I commit to nurturing my relationship with myself through fun and joy."

Close the ritual: Take a few more deep breaths, bringing your awareness back to the present moment. Thank yourself for taking the time to nurture your relationship with yourself and commit to prioritizing joy in your life.
